Frank, a longtime teacher and basketball coach, has opened a record store stocked with vinyl, CDs, and music-themed merchandise like T-shirts, keychains, and coasters. It’s a small but vibrant space, tucked into an unassuming spot that’s quickly earning a reputation as a hidden gem for music lovers.
For Frank, music has always been more than a hobby. It’s been part of the soundtrack of his life. After years of doing record shows and flea markets on weekends, he decided it was time to open a place of his own.

“This store isn’t just about selling records,” he said. “It’s about having a space where people can hang out, talk music, and maybe find something special they didn’t expect.”
Though he hasn’t hosted listening parties yet, Frank is considering future events. He’s thinking about food trucks, live music or even collaborations with local car clubs. The goal is to create a spot where people feel welcome and connected, whether they’re seasoned vinyl collectors or just looking for a cool gift.

It’s also clear that Frank’s impact goes far beyond music. As a teacher and coach, he’s shaped countless young lives in New Bern, and now he’s building another kind of community around his passion for music.
For anyone who loves discovering local businesses or just loves flipping through record bins, Frank’s shop is worth checking out. It’s proof that great music and good conversations are never far away in New Bern.
